Question: When is the last day to begin the 90-day meaningful use reporting period in 2013? Is it: a) August 3, b) September 3, or c) October 3

If you answered “C”, then you are correct.

October 3, 2013 is the last day to begin the 90-day meaningful use reporting period in 2013, so it’s important you act now. If you haven’t achieved Stage 1 Meaningful Use yet, you should be aware of the 2013 deadline and its impact on two groups of eligible providers (EPs):

  1. Providers eligible for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program who do not meet Stage 1 Meaningful Use in 2013 will lose out on approximately $15,000 in incentive payments and face Medicare payment adjustments starting in 2015.
  1. Providers who are eligible for Medicaid EHR incentive payments and bill more than $20,000 to Medicare Part B will face Medicare payment adjustments starting in 2015 if they don’t meet Meaningful Use in 2013.

**This is the last year you’ll be able to take advantage of subsidized support from our REC – the same support that has helped many providers like you successfully achieve Meaningful Use.**
