Update on COVID-19 and the Quality Payment Program

In response to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has implemented multiple flexibilities across the 2019 and 2020 performance years for the Quality Payment Program (QPP). Flexibilities are primarily designed to allow clinicians to re-weight one or more Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) categories to 0% due to extreme and uncontrollable circumstances.
