UPDATE: Meaningful Use Patient Volume
A reminder to all Meaningful Use providers: Registration and Attestation is now open!
Please know that no pre-authorizations will be accepted after February 1, 2017.
To qualify for Medicaid EHR Incentives (Meaningful Use), providers must demonstrate a minimum 30% Medicaid patient encounter volume (either individually or as a member of a group) each year of participation. Pediatricians may have between 20-29% for a lower incentive payment. Group practices can use the same volume data for each provider in the group as long as the volume reasonably represents each provider’s patient volume. For example, it would be inappropriate to include a provider who seldom sees Medicaid patients in the group.
Please visit here should you need more information on calculating your patient volume. If you are using group volume, you will enter that data only on the first provider. The others in your group will be pre-populated when you select “include organization encounters.” Of course it is important to get that first one correct! HFS will run a report and attempt to match your numbers to prove that you are in compliance.
As always, questions can be directed to the Illinois Medicaid EHR Incentive Help Desk.
