Dear Vendor Community,
As you can imagine there has been much activity with the creation of our Regional Extension Center here in Chicago. We are now working with more than 1,600 providers in every corner of thecity, and we are very encouraged about the work that lies ahead. We want to thank you for your initiative in contacting us as well as your patience with our responses. As previously communicated, CHITREC has worked with our partners at IL-HITREC and the State of Illinois Office of Health IT to develop common principles to ensure consistency and efficiencies across Illinois.
We recognize that stakeholders, including vendors, must all effectively contribute to the success of EHR implementations and the achievement of Meaningful Use.
Key Decisions To Date:
- CHITREC will not create a preferred EHR vendor list and will remain vendor-agnostic when presenting to providers and practices.
- CHITREC will engage with vendors as appropriate to ensure providers receive needed financial and technical assistance.
- CHITREC will work with vendors to identify providers and where current provider customers exist, help vendors maximize providers’ chances of achieving Meaningful Use.
